    Cutera

Project Summary:  Cosmetic Medical Device Manufacturer

The collaboration between Cutera, Inc., Julian, and Zoe Design Associates in developing high-end medical technologies for non-invasive cosmetic treatments was established in 2002. Over the next 15 years, the focus was on developing a signature visual brand language, improving the user experience, and creating innovative product designs that stood out in a highly competitive market.

The award-winning solutions were based on extensive consumer research and analysis, end-user research and analysis, and user environment research and analysis. The brand experience was created to communicate a friendly and approachable spa-like treatment environment rather than a clinical one, focusing on high-tech, professional, non-threatening tools and medical devices. The products were designed to be lightweight and ergonomically sound, with excellent visibility of the treatment areas. Safety features, motion-conforming supports, specialized grip designs, and an intuitive lightweight design were added to the products to ensure a high focus on ergonomics.

Cutera became a global industry leader by revolutionizing the experience for consumers and practitioners with signature designs still available today.
