Julian Thomas Peck Principal & Head Creative

Julian Thomas Peck founded his consulting studios in San Francisco in 2001. He is a Commercial Photographer, Videographer, Designer, Brand/Marketing and Product Development Strategist. He has created competitive advantage and emotional connections for Beverage, Food, and Hospitality clients since 2001 and the tech, healthcare, and consumer products industry since 1999.


Julian served as Executive Creative Director, Chief Brand Officer, Interim Chief Marketing Officer, Commercial Photographer and Videographer for multiple B2B and B2C food industry companies and as Creative Director for an Industrial Design Agency.


Julian brings years of experience developing, designing, and producing products and brands, bringing them to life, and emotionally connecting them with target consumers. His career has focused on creative direction, brand and product strategy, design innovation, visual communication, commercial imagery, and consumer experience. Julian is passionate about tackling complex challenges, diving deep, and getting his hands dirty.

What's a typical project like?


No two projects are alike. Our projects can be as small as a single photoshoot to as big as a complete brand, product and marketing strategy, design, production, and stewarding project. To better understand our process, see below.

  • The Bottom Line

    The Bottom line of what we do is emotionally connect target consumers with products and brands through strategy and design.


    How do we go about doing that? Together, we will find your brand voice, figure out your most compelling brand stories and messaging, and the appropriate ways to communicate them and hone your product and brand experiences. 


    Depending on our analysis, those deliverables may be social media, photos and videos, in-person events, websites, or apps. It will be whatever makes the most sense for both your business, the target consumer, and what your competition is doing. 


    If we bring on a research team, we will work alongside them, analyzing their research and translating it into actionable strategy.



  • The Beginning

    We frequently work in phases such as Discovery, Design, Production and Analysis, and Stewardship. Regardless of the scope and type of the deliverables, most projects will touch these stages to some extent.


    A typical project will go something like this…


    First, we define what the success goals will be right up front. Then we either develop a brand from scratch or refine an established brand and bring everyone up-to-speed on the latest strategy and stories. This will provide a clear foundation for everything the company does from that point on. 


    This stage will include identifying your brand’s objectives, target audiences, and potential opportunities. It will tell us many things, such as our positioning, but most importantly, who we are, what we stand for, where we are going, how we will stand out from the competition, and a strategy for connecting with people on a fundamental emotional level.



  • Creative

    Based on the brand strategy and our insights, we’ll develop creative concepts, imagery, products, solutions, and consumer-facing goodies during the subsequent phases. 


    This will include creating or refining and clarifying a brand identity that will show the personality of the company and that will attract and connect with our ideal audience.


    From there, we would develop the brand-marketing campaigns, collateral, and experiences to create awareness and put the product in front of the right people.



  • Stewardship

    As we go, we like to set goals, measure our results, and continually adapt, ensuring we keep the messages consistent and appropriate. 


    Since brands & products need ongoing maintenance, refreshing, testing, and fine-tuning to stay relevant, we frequently continue collaborating to help with the evolution, steward the brand, or run innovation or consumer insight workshops. 


    Suppose we decide to work together after our kick-off meeting. In that case, we will lay out and explain the phases tailored for you, the estimated timelines, the ideal deliverables, financial breakdowns for each phase, and the type of sub-contractors we will manage if required.
